I’ve been waiting to try their butter tarts and it was so delicious!! I also got the cookie and char siu milk bun which were good but not my favourite.
My regret was ordering one butter tart.
Tried their char siu milk bun, curry beef milk bun and the onion and scallion oil focaccia. Everything was great! Char siu bun had hearty chunks of bbq pork. It was nice and savoury and the bun was light with a crisp bottom. Curry beef milk bun was also good, but I personally preferred the char siu one better. Onion scallion oil focaccia was so fragrant and delicious! It reheats really well and great for sharing.
The shop itself was filled with lush greenery and a great vibe. Staff were friendly and service was great.
Would highly recommend! I will definitely be coming back to try other items.
We bought the Leftover Christmas turkey galettes and butter tarts then sat at the bench at the Christie Pits park to try them. It was pretty cold outside, but the savory galettes were warm and fresh. We had a good time chatting and finished up with the butter tarts which were buttery with a good amount of sweetness and salt. They also have the edge of a bit chewy sense of caramel. We enjoyed the bakes a lot!
Tell them to invest in a slicer. Also if your name is phillip, they are looking for you. This is one of the best bakeries, if it was your expressed favorite, Id shake your hand and say “good day.” The country loaf and the chocolate chip cookies are 100%. The butter tarts are something you prob need to try. They always have other little inventions that you should grab if they interest you. Sourdough brioche? Panetonne cake? Cheese bread? Whatever get it all. This is a must stop. The staff is charming as well.
Our favourite bakery in the neighborhood. We’ve gone weekly, trying to make our way though their offerings, and everything has been excellent. I deeply appreciate how well brewed their drip coffee is, hands down best drip ive had locally (when a place has the extraction wheel on the wall, you just know they care). The stand outs so far are obviously the butter tarts, the chocolate chip cookies, and the potato and rosemary focaccia. Staff are pleasant, items are packaged well, they accept cash. Just perfect!
