What do Bordeaux Bakery visitors reviews this place?
Entering Bordeaux Bakery felt like stepping into a cozy haven, warmly welcoming me with its inviting atmosphere. It’s the kind of place that I’ve always wanted to visit, and finally being there filled me with excitement. The menu, adorned with an array of tempting options, only added to my anticipation. Though as I perused the offerings, I realized that indulging in quality here might require a bit more from the wallet, as the prices weren’t exactly on the cheap side
As I glanced around at the dishes arriving at neighboring tables, my excitement for my next visit soared. Each plate was beautifully presented and looked absolutely mouthwatering. Although I went for a classic Reuben sandwich from the counter this time, I couldn’t help but notice that while it hit the spot flavor-wise, it didn’t quite reach the heights of sandwich perfection I had hoped for (the bread, in particular, was a bit cold and harder to bite into than I would have liked).
However, the standout of my experience was undoubtedly the chai—a delightful concoction that hit all the right notes and left me craving more. The attentive and friendly demeanor of the waitstaff further enhanced the dining experience, adding a warm and welcoming touch to the atmosphere.
As I looked around, I couldn’t help but notice how lively this café was! It was clear that it’s a favorite spot for many, with the cheerful crowd confirming its popularity. The constant flow of customers, whether they were dining in or grabbing something to go, really highlighted just how appealing and convenient this place is.

Visited out of desperation on 2 Jan as not a lot else open. Overcame my dislike of their anti-cyclist objections to the much needed planned safety improvements for cyclists on Thorndon Quay. We had 2 x coffees and waffles and eggs bene. Apparently (from other reviews) the hard stale toasted thick slices from a baguette are normal – so my bad I should have read up. The ham was acceptable. The eggs were poorly cooked: uncooked white and not runny 2/3rd of yolk on one. Over-cooked and with extra raggy bits attached for other. Waffles mediocre, a but dry (just enough maple syrup to compensate) , half a banana and two small rashers of bacon. Coffees acceptable. 1 x decaf latte plus 1 x flat white (with a lot more foam on top than normal).
This French bakery is great! Fabulous pastries and French bread. Good coffee, and the food is all delicious. I recently stopped in for a cronut and coffee, which were both on point. I also took away one of their delicious pies for dinner that night. There’s plenty of seating, too, if you want to eat in. Parking can be tricky in the busy area, but it is definitely worth seeking out.
I had the eggs Benny & asked for it to be on a soft toast rather than the usual hard toast.
And it wasn’t a problem at all.
Was really nice surprise to see the beautiful thick chunks of ham off the bone when it arrived.

The cabinet treats looked so good but I was already full from breakfast so didn’t get to try much this visit. I LOVED sitting by the window with my coffee and canelè, people watching. It’s a one way street and with all the Monday morning rush going on, it was giving NYC! Such a vibe.
