Breads Bakery — est. 2013, 6 locations across Manhattan as of March 2024.
It’s a chain and it’s overpriced. Modern and appealing in design, delicious-looking and alluring baked goods. Unfortunately the pricing is insultingly exorbitant so as an UWSider I would not and do not shop at this bakery.
Cute coffee shop on our way to the park. Very nice people, lots of quick breakfast options as well as sweets and coffee. We came in at a busy time, don’t remember being asked if it was dine in or to go but we were given it to take togo however the wait was long and we ended up eating it before we even got our coffee. We had to stand because of lack of seating inside, it’s a small place and it was packed. There were people that were done and just were on their phones taking up space but that isn’t the shop’s fault, just inconsiderate people.
We ordered a breakfast sandwich, mediterranean quiche and a croissant, all great even if we did eat it from a bag while standing. We both ordered a half caf that my husband was fully convinced was just a decaf, it tasted good but when we both got close to the bottom there was so many coffee grounds I had to spit it out. Not exactly the breakfast experience I was looking for but at least we had a warm cup of coffee and ate some goodies before we went to the park. Hope to return and try it again.

Small shop that does a few things really well. One of the best croissants on the UWS. Egg sandwich is so fluffy and delicious. Almond croissant was delicious and flaky.
Amazing place! There’s always a fresh bakery smell and great options. Got a potato bureka, spinach bureka (puffed pastry). Both were great, very fresh and great taste. Also got an almond croissant, that was good too. The burekas were 2 for around $7 but the croissant was expensive for $6.
So disappointed. Had a hot chocolate a couple weeks ago, and it was quite good, so I went back for another today. The first time I got it, it was given to me right away (I’m assuming it was premade) so I was thrilled to see the guy break out some chocolate wafers and steam the milk; but that excitement gave way to disappointment when I received the drink (see picture). It was essentially a $6+ of steamed milk with a tiny hint of chocolate 🙁
