Calle Bakery

We visited on a Wednesday 10:45am and there was a queue. There isn’t a lot of seating but we managed to find a table.

The croissants were fresh. You know it’s great croissants when it crumbles and flakes apart when you hold it. We had the Cookie-Croissant which came straight out of the oven and was hot and sufficiently melted when bitten into. The Choc-Hazlenut was the same but I preferred the cookie one – just because you won’t find anything similar in any other bakery/cafe in Melbourne.

The Pastrami baguette was freshly made also. The Ice Latte had three shots of coffee. Very strong.

Overall highly recommended. Do yourself a favour and try it out!

Nice spot for a quick bite, sip, and yap. It was a little busy when I went. Tables are quite limited but move fast so you’ll be able to find a spot to sit. I tried their cookie croissant which definitely satisfied my sweet tooth. The escargot was soft and heavier on the cinnamon than others I’ve tried. I’ll be back to try their other pastries! 🥐

Delightfully fresh and delicious! A pleasant discovery, a quaint little bakery with Parisian charm in Rathdowne st. Had a selection of pastries which I have to say the presentation just makes your mouth water. Also really yummy. I also had one of the savoury lunch rolls which was really good, you can tell straight away it is fresh! What’s nice about this place is it’s not pretentious, the service is friendly which makes it nice to visit. It does get busy though so when you see the queue you know it’s good.

This is an absolutely fantastic bakery. Carlton locals are very lucky to have such a high quality bakery close by… the baguette was absolutely delicious and probably the best I have ever tasted. The pastries were also absolutely yummy. If you’re in Carlton do yourself a favour and go to Calle Bakery.. I can’t wait to get back to Calle Bakery and try out their delicious pastries

We bought 4 things from here:

1. cinnamon twist – delicious! Great snack, would buy again!
2. The Banoffe Croissant- we shared this as it’s quite big. But boy was it good, Creamy, delicious and decadent. Not for everyday snacking, but a nice special occasion treat.
3. Almond Croissant – a good almond Croissant, not the best I’ve ever had, but definitely a good one!
4. Cherry danish – my partner ate this one, so I didn’t try it. But he loved it.

The vibes are cute too, so great spot for a coffee break!
