Dempster’s Bread-Division Of Canada Bread Company Limited

I bought a loaf of cinnamon Raisin bread when we were having company. Then I went away for 5 weeks. I came home and was cleaning and found half this loaf that got hidden behind something.. so by now the loaf is 6 weeks old. As I’m writing this it has now been 7 weeks. No mold and as fresh as the day I bought it. I messaged the company through Facebook because I could not find an email for them. I asked why their bread would not be stale or show signs of mold. It should have been blue. It was not in the fridge but on the counter and heat on in the house. This is how they responded.

“A combination of a low mold spore count, low moisture, environment, good handling practices and mold inhibitors are the reasons why your product does not contain mold.”

All I can say is GROSS Dempsters.

I’m not buying Dempster bagels any more. Would it kill you to cut the bagel ALL THE WAY THROUGH??? We would be better off if you didn’t cut them at all, so we could ourselves. I can’t tell you how many bagels have been ruined due to only being cut part way! Sad

Dempster products are great. The new EVERYTHING bread is totally awesome. Grain bread with roasted onions and garlic. My other favorite is the honey oatmeal. A grain bread with the taste of honey. Oh yes it is yummy. I would like to see them make a bread with onions and jalapenos. I will put that on my wish list. Keep it up guys.

I eat toast for breakfast and often a sandwich for lunch nearly every day 365 days a year. Dempster’s Ancient Grains and 100% Whole Wheat Bread and multi-grain bagels are as good as it gets. Love all the quality ingredients. Absolutely the best whole wheat breads readily available in Canada.

As a reasonably well-off American I am used to a wider variety of breads at the supermarket than is available in Canada. I spend several months a year in Canada, at the northern tip of Newfoundland, so finding good bread is important to me. Yet even in the states there’s nothing better than my favorite Dempster breads. I’m also struck by how reasonably priced these high quality offerings are. In the states breads like these would be top shelf, premium priced.

Ding! My toast is done.

We really like the Dempsters Products but the bread is cut so inconsistently. Maybe they could get someone to fix the bread slicers.
