About this restaurants :
Cafe gets crowded around lunchtime even on a weekday so best to get there by around 11am. The French toast is soft and one of the best around. Bacon sandwich with fried egg and brown sauce is also really good. Drinks are also very well made. Staff are friendly and attentive and always around to help. Well worth a trip down to the cafe from anywhere in the city.
I had the bacon sandwich and it was delicious. My vanilla latte was also lovely but served in a glass with no handles so it was extremely hot to try and hold onto to drink. Got a box of cookies and they are very nice. App ordering was nice and easy and staff were friendly.
Nice little cafe that will satisfy your craving for breakfast. I tried their Gooey French Toast and it was massive, delicious, intimidating, and very very satisfying. The French toast will fill you up, and the sweet and salty contrast is such a treat for your mouth. We tried their bacon, and it is some of the best bacon I have had in a long time,, we thing the bacon is beef. We tried their dark chocolate cookie and it was soft on the inside, very good. Place is pretty busy and has seating for about 30 people, but people rotate quickly in and out of the cafe. Takeaway is an option. There are 2 toilets for customer use. Water station and high chairs available. Service is quick. Come here for amazing bacon and French toast!

French toast cube is still very satisfying until the end, only issue is it disappears into my stomach too quickly!
I came across Gooey whilst in the depths of a covid lockdown depression three years ago. I was searching for ‘Cookies in Berlin’ so to tell you I was devastated when I realised I had come across the most delicious looking cookies and donuts and they were in Manchester, not Berlin is an understatement. But I followed them on Instagram and over the past three years I have been drooling over all their content waiting for the day I would finally visit Manchester and taste them. Today was that day. You k ow how sometimes when you have been waiting to try a new cafe, and drooling over their photos, and imagining the taste in your mouth, then you finally visit them and it’s super average? Well that was not the case today. Gooey delivered 200%, I tried the French toast and the hash browns and they were both INCREDIBLY delicious, maybe the best French toast and hash browns I have ever eaten in my life. Thank you Gooey team, keep up the good work! ❤️
Expect a wait, but wow what a wait!! I already knew I wanted french toast. We waited about 20 mins to be seated and we ordered via a qr code on the table. We shared a meatball focaccia and french toast, and two coffees. The food and drink was outstanding, you can also watch them preparing all the goodies too. We did have to wait about 15-20 mins for food but again it was worth it.
