About this restaurants :
A great little Japanese bakery in West London. Lots of great bakery items on offer and freshly made. The place is really small and can get crowded. Would recommend trying!
After visiting Happy Sky Bakery when they were at the Japan Matsuri in Trafalgar years ago we’ve always wanted to make a trip to their bakery, and the trip did not disappoint! I’d given ourselves a budget of 5 items each, as we were having a very special trip into London where our items constituted our breakfast and lunch!
Picking classic staples such as melon pan, katsu sando, and their yuzu custard doughnut we loved absolutely everything we got!
The bakery is very small, so do be aware there’s not much room, but it was just like visiting a Japanese bakery, items were being put out and announced frequently so even visiting at around 11 there was still so much to choose from! Their items are more expensive than your average bakery, but this is not your average bakery and suffice to say, nothing will disappoint!!
Finally made it to this fab bakery! Tried almost one of everything, but the top choices are: yuzu tart, matcha bun and the chestnut bun. Bread was amazing, and the chestnut bun (bottom right) was my favourite as it was sweet with a tinge of salt it was really quite different. But the yuzu tart (peeking out from underneath that pile) is a must for that umami taste! The matcha bun was really fun with a soft chewy mochi buried under the matcha topping. Of the rest: the corner left one is sweetcorn, cheese & mayo; sitting across that is the chicken teriyaki bun and to the right of that is egg & teriyaki sauce (i think). Sitting at the very top is the apple bun, and you can just see the 2 matcha buns (green) underneath. It’s a little taste of Japan in London, highly recommend! It’s a little pricey, but worth it. Take out only. Opening hours are restricted so check before you go, but definitely go!
Today was my first time visiting happy sky bakery. This bakery is literally amazing all items is made fresh on site. The staff are so lovely I made enquire of a item which was yakisoba. Which wasn’t on the shelf.
They went out of there way to make the yakisoba
Which I really appreciate!
I definitely recommend this bakery it’s the most authentic Japanese in london. Impeccable customer service.
Travelled an hour from east London to try Happy Sky and it did not disappoint! I came back twice and got nearly one of everything. All their buns had the softest bread I ever tried and my favorites were the anpan and egg n chicken karaage bun. Will be making the trek here each time I’m in London!
