Irish Potato Cake Company

We had breakfast at this little gem in Dublin since our hotel was located up the block. We were pleasantly surprised to find out that it was rated Travelers’ Choice. The cafe is very small, with only 5 tables and some outside seating on a busy street, but it serves authentic Irish food. I decided to try their signature full Irish breakfast, which was okay for me, but I can see why others love it. The bacon was salty and my potato cakes were cold, but I really enjoyed the sausage. Regardless, I would recommend visiting this cute and authentic spot just to experience the real feel of Irish food.

Very Irish vibe, old style but cozy. The tea pot cover is cute. I’d say the food is just alright, potato cake is not special or tasty as I expected. Most importantly, the cooking smell is so strong when I sit outside right by the door. I could only imagine it must be stronger if sitting inside. And the smell left on my clothes quite a while after leaving. Overall, it’s suitable for visitors to have an Irish experience. For people living here, there’re better choices for sure.

This little cafe is so cute – a bit toursity but worth it. Prices are not too bad, and the small size means it feels cozy and warm. The food is great and well-priced, I appreciated the student discount! There was also a great range of options to choose from. Glad I visited after thinking about it for so long, so you should too!

Small dainty restaurant, very cozy feeling. I ordered the potato soup and cakes combo (has two cakes). Perfect lunch portion. The soup wasn’t hot enough to me. It was warm. The potato cakes were awesome. Crusty outside, flavorful on the inside.

Delicious Irish breakfast, I tried the vegetarian option with eggs and scones. It was perfect 👌
The Irish potatoes are crispy in the outside, nice and moist inside.
Great portions and great service.
It’s a small place so be ready to get cramped.
