LAB Strathfield

Still waiting for the interior walls to be completed, but the bread taste and texture is really like an experimental exploration. No wonder the shop was called LAB!

We chose a range of bread from sweet to savoury for lunch:
Green tea 🍵 mochi with red bean 🫘 filling
Melon 🍈 bread filled with explosive melon CREAM (see picture)
Croissant 🥐 sandwich with sweet mustard, tomato 🍅, ham 🍗, cheese 🧀 and lettuce 🥬

We thought we would need more food but we were both surprisingly full from a small amount of food.

Forget about the strawberry watermelon cake, bingsu is definitely an eye catching dessert and stupid instagrammable. We opted for some dessert after getting stuffed with MEAT aka kbbq 😉

👅 Mango Bingsu $26 LARGE
We have to appreciate how it looks first. WOWWEEE LOOK AT THAT 😍 The drip on this beast is unreal and loaded 😦 The bingsu itself on the bottom was so soft and flaky, melt in your mouth. The syrup was a bit too sweet tbh and the let down was that the mango pieces were frozen and hard af. It was still good but it was hard to eat 😂😭 It also had chewy lil mochi pieces which was a good addition for the variation of texture. Overall, we liked it but too sweet. Keen to try the other flavours 😎

Super convenient location, close to the station & has the best iced green tea latte (the perfect amount of sweetness in my opinion).

The coffee however can be a hit or miss and the pastries usually taste slightly stale and not great quality.

But I’ll still come here all the time because of its convenience & for a quick iced drink! 🙂

Had a wide range of baked goods, cakes and drinks to choose from, with clear list of ingredients which made it helpful for dietary restrictions. The iced taro latte was sweet and refreshing, and their iced coffees are strong and are perfect as a pick me up. Efficient and friendly service, definitely would go back.

The taro latte was pretty good and the bingsu is always great here. Especially as summer nears it’ll be a great place to chill and have some cold dessert.
