What do Le Génie Bakery & Espresso visitors reviews this place?
Finally came here after watching chef Romain Avril’s review. Didn’t meet all of my expectations of a great croissant, so not 5 stars… Layers are absolutely amazing. Flavor is balanced, maybe slightly on the saltier side, which I personally really enjoy! And a ton of the butter flavor because the quality of butter must be really good, which you can tell from the yellow color of the dough. Outside is flaky and not too oily at all, and also not difficult to chew at all. The croissant is also actually pretty light, even though it looks gigantic. The only complaint I have is the inside feels a little bit sticky. Just talking about the texture of the inside, I’ve had much better croissants in the city. But for the outside and overall completeness of the croissant, this is indeed one of the best.
Love their pistachio croissant! Most pistachio (and almond) croissants are double baked (which is delicious) but nothing can beat a fresh light flaky croissant and I love how they offer that WITH pistachio cream
The croissant itself is massive so even tho it is $9, you get a huge portion so I would say it isnt too expensive
Cannot wait to try their other pastries next time!

A delightfully cozy spot that will immediately tanatlize you with the aromas of baking hitter and sugar. The croissant is the best one I’ve had in the city thus far. A delicate crunch to start with a great balance of texture makes one feel like they’re landing on a pillow. The vanilla filling is light, smooth, and aromatic. It’s not a heavy in your face kind of place, but one to stop and enjoy.
I don’t often make reviews, but the butter croissant truly impressed me. Went there last weekend right after the shop opened and ordered one butter croissant and one peach Danish, along with a cup of cappuccino. Butter croissant was the best I’ve tasted in Toronto – a thousand layers melting in your mouth and so crispy – you could tell by the crumbs on my plate. The size was also quite big. The danish and coffee were so-so, with the coffee being a bit too over extracted. However, for the croissant I will definitely come back.
If you looking for the authentic taste of Frech bakery, you won’t find anywhere better than Le Genie in the rest of the country. Their croissant, danish, baguette are the best I’ve ever had.
The coffee beans are well selected and you can test the difference if you try the hand pour.
Perfect time to spend a hour or two in the afternoon here. You will love it!
