What do Magpie Bakery visitors reviews this place?
I gave 4 starts for Atmosphere only because I always take it to go and because the actual sitting area and front of house is small. The pastries in Magpie are the best I have ever had. I am comparing to places in New York, London, Paris, New Orleans etc. Far bigger cities with reputations for food and bakeries. The unique blends like the use rhubarb in Danishes, the cruffin with lemon and blueberries, the miso brownies, the praline swirl etc. it is incredible. When I go into the city, I park my car, walk to Magpie, pick up some pastries and bring them back to the car then get on with whatever I needed to come to the city for. First stop is Magpie!
The pastries here are fantastic. There are also many vegan options available. The morning bun is always a great choice, but I’ve recently tried the Pecan Carmel Croissant and what I think was a praline cream pastry?… Both were fantastic and I would most definitely get again. If you have a chance to get the Lemon Poppyseed sourdough- buy it! It’s the nicest bread I’ve ever had. The coffee here is also great, overall would rather go no where else for a pastry in Galway
Lovely little coffee and bakery spot in Galway. My chai latte was spot on and the pastries were excellent. Not too sweet, nicely textured and sizeable! We got the blackberry cruffin and the vanilla and plum tarte. Both excellent. Haven’t tried the bread yet but will definitely go back to do so!
The best bakery I’ve ever tried in Ireland, seriously. The hazelnut cruffin is my favourite at the moment but I want to try them all. The bread is also amazing, even the next days if you toast it…no words.
The queue is not that terrible as it seems. They go quite fast.

Delicious and freshly baked (!!!) pastries (sounds strange, but this is not so common in Galway). We loved cinnamon buns and cruffin. We’ll come back for sure. The queue looks scary, but the staff works so well and efficient that it looked worse than it was.
