What do Rough Hand Made visitors reviews this place?
A nice bakery situated in the Albert Docks in Liverpool. Decided to visit due to the high reviews and it did not disappoint. You can actually see the bakers make the pastries which is a nice touch. Polite staff. I ordered the almond plait which was £3.25 for one which is a moderate rate. It tasted great although it would have been even better if it was warm. Due to the busy nature of the shop and the small seating space, I had to enjoy the food outside but the views made it enjoyable.
Worthy of its five stars and well worth queuing! We explored the Dock before heading back into town and bought a couple of croissants and velvet hot chocolate (proper dark chocolate sticks melted by hot milk poured on top). There’s a small area to sit if you are lucky, loads of croissant flakes on the floor (impossible not to flake any, the lamination is THAT good!) A small table with bread/buns and very friendly service. It was very busy but the queue moved at a good pace and was largely people waiting for hot drinks. Absolutely delicious and highly recommended! Lids, stirrers and napkins are NOT at the till, so collect these from the side when you queue.
I just discovered this place and to be honest after trying the out-of-this-world pastries I can’t believe how I could live without visiting this place before! I’m obsessed, the croissants are unreal, the best ones I‘ve ever tried definitely. You can tell that the owner and other bakers are very passionate about the art of baking and have extensive experience and knowledge – making French pastry from scratch is a tricky and quite difficult process to master but they just know how to do it perfectly. And the size of the croissants – they are so huge! Even though I was already full after eating one I couldn’t stop myself from buying one more after I saw a new batch coming out of one of the ovens. I honestly could write a whole essay about how great this place is. There wasn’t much variety to choose from when I got here but it was two hours before close so I expected that. This also shows how fresh everything is here. The coffee was also very good. I will be definitely coming back here for more!
A very busy cafe for pastries, everything sold out so quick, so get in early if you want to try.
Prices were very reasonable and a serve yourself approach.
Can’t wait to try again.

I was in the Albert Dock for a meeting and just had to call in here while I had the chance. The staff are lovely and service was fast and efficient. I bought a milk chocolate croissant, blueberry and cream cheese pastry, a mini mushroom pizza and a quiche. I could smell the pastries driving home and couldn’t wait to try them all. Oh my days! The quiche was delicious, perfect shortcrust pastry. The pizza, again amazing, lots of flavour and tasty base. The blueberry pastry was so good, you can really taste the quality of the ingredients. My husband had the choc croissant and said it was fantastic. You must try this place, well worth a visit.
