What do Russell Street Bakery visitors reviews this place?
Quite easily the best bakery we’ve been to in Ireland! Hands down beats some of the popular, overcrowded bakeries in Dublin.
The staff is friendly and have great recommendations.
Spinach and Feta Croissant – absolutely stunning, buttery, creamy and delicious
Potato garlic and rosemary focaccia – it was vegan, but very nice! The potato gave a creamy texture and the garlic flavour was subtle, not too overpowering
Chocolate croissant – seemed like it had a million layers and it was fantastic. The chocolate filling felt like a mousse rather just a simple chocolate filling
Coffee was delicious as well.
They’ve a small outdoor seating to have your coffee and pastries.
In the pouring rain, this bakery is definitely worth the drive for freshly baked sourdough and pastries! Always all staff are very friendly and attentive. Thanks for whipping up the pistachio cream this morning in a rush! Already devoured half of it!
Stopped by right when they opened. Absolutely wonderful pastries and coffee. I particularly loved the croissants, but honestly everything was delightful. Prices are fair, and the shop itself is lovely. Highly recommended!
I have been wanting to try the New York rolls for sometime now, and finally decided to pay this cafe a visit this morning. After travelling for 45 minutes, we reached there by 9:45 AM and queued for about 15 minutes. Unfortunately, by the time it was our turn (10 AM), the rolls were gone, and we told the counter server and a baker that we were specifically there for the rolls and were a bit sad to have missed them. They informed us that the rolls last for only about an hour from the time they open. Nevertheless, we ordered few other pastries, coffees and sandwich, and started having them in the seating area. Once we were done, we started leaving the cafe premises, and THAT is when we saw the rolls being brought out again, fresh out of the oven!! So, a bit disappointed and confused by the fact that the people behind the counter did not bother informing us that the rolls would be restocked and available soon.
The various items we tried were good though, no complaints about them.

One of our favorite things to do on weekends is trying out different bakeries in Dublin with my boyfriend. He’s a baker, and we both come from Argentina, where bakeries are famous for their great quality – you can find at least three on every block. However, for the first time, I found something even better than Argentinean bakeries: Russell’s Lemon Curd.
The Lemon Curd at Russell’s is like a perfect mix of a lemon pie and a croissant. There isn’t a single thing that could be improved. The lemon curd and meringue were just right – not too sour or too sweet, and the texture was perfect. When you combine these flavors with the flaky dough, you have to taste it to believe how good it is.
In second place, we loved the Pain Suisse with chocolate. The balance between the dough and the chocolate cream inside was just right. You could taste both flavors without one overpowering the other. The cappuccino was amazing, served at the perfect temperature, and with a lovely smoothness to the milk. Russell’s has definitely become our favorite bakery.
