What do Sonoma Braddon visitors reviews this place?
Fairly niche little cafe right in the middle of Canberra. The tuna baguette was super fresh and delicious. Place was extremely busy on a Saturday morning, however the staff were quick, polite and efficient. Atmosphere was good. Very nice.
Nice pastries, really liked the almond croissant. Think the service could be improved/ more attentive but they were quite busy and the line moved fast. Lots of selection so a worthwhile visit for sure
I wish I could give Sonoma 5 stars but I can’t. The pastries and baked goods are amazing, out of this world maybe the best in Australia. However the coffee is subpar, I like to get a coffee when I come here and every time I do (countless amount now) it is always bad. I hope that it isn’t but it is bad. Whether it be too hot, the type of cup it is served in (serving hot coffee in a glass cup is insanity it hurts to hold), too bitter, mochas that taste like cappuccinos, or that every time there is at the end of the drink chunks of coffee grounds which is usually a sign of poor machine maintenance. Despite this I will continue to go to sonoma as their pastries both savoury and sweet are out of this world delicious! Also an amazing range that has both classics and yet changes it up every so often.
3.5 stars. Very popular bakery/cafe from the successful and quite trendy Sonoma chain. One of the only places open on New Year’s Day so came to try it.
Margherita foccacia
Flavour: S, 8/10. Tomato and cheese were both quite mild but worked well. Basil was still noticeable
Texture: S+, 8.5/10. Bread base was soft and chewy
Value: B, 6/10. $10/slice is quite expensive
Overall: A, 7/10. Wouldn’t really recommend unless you’re out of options or really craving foccacia
Almond croissant
Flavour: S, 8/10. Almond filling was very nice but a little overpowered by the orange zest and cinnamon.
Texture: S, 8/10. Flaky with a soft interior though was a little collapsed so lacked some of the airiness of others I’ve had
Value: B, 6/10. $8
Overall: A, 7/10
Iced mocha: S, 8/10. Enjoyable balance between coffee and chocolate though a bit too much chocolate. $6.5 is a bit steep.
Lovely bakery and cafe. There are many options to choose from and really nice. I love the concept that you have a bakery offers freshly baked products with good coffee. Will definitely come back and recommend to others.
