The Naked Baker

We used to enjoy coming here for weekend pies and slices but the quality of the food has meant we will not be returning again. My husband had the steak, bacon & cheese pie which was average. My mushroom and mushroom pie was horrible. It was full of gristle, minimal meat and very few slices of mushroom. It tasted odd. The sausage rolls were ok but certainly nothing like they used to be and they felt like cheap meat.

The other weird aspect to the Naked Baker is the not so subtle sexual overtones in some of the products (the candles they’re now selling) and signage. The tip jar was away this time but does say “just put the tip in. It’ll feel nice” and the candles on display at children’s eye levels were nothing short of just crass and disgusting. It’s not even remotely clever and I’m not easily offended.

The combination of that and the very average food means we will go elsewhere from now on. Very disappointing and not the first time we’ve come away feeling this way.

Bought a grab one deal but should’ve just bought coffee as the slices of cake on offer were covered in fake cream & the chocolate cake was a bit dry. Bit disappointed to find that cake slices were packaged in plastic also.

My mocha today had a very odd taste (something to do with the chocolate?) which the server quickly rectified and instead I went for a latte which was great.

I’ll go back for the naked custard slice but happily leave the cake next time!

First time went there with my friends for a cup of coffee and had something to eat and it was amazing and had good experience. .. fresh and yummy food .. staffs were so good and nice ✅✅✅r

Friendly and helpful staff, they make a great coffee and you certainly have plenty of choice when it come to top food.

Unfortunately, the “cracked pepper pie” was, in essence, just a steak pie with no real pepper bar a couple of sprinkles on top. The ice chocolate we got was very unusual and tasted like something had gone off, to the credit of The Naked Baker staff they did apologise for the drink and remade it which was nice, the remade iced chocolate was a better.

But it was not all bad, the roast pork pie was delicious, the gravy was thick and rich in flavour, the satay chicken pie was also very nice.

Overall, decent bakery perhaps just bad day.
