Tonton Bread

The pastries and cakes were delicious, but they lost their crispiness after a while. The coffee was pleasant, with a mild fragrance and a smooth finish.
There was no seatings, only some basic one at the store front.

Was googling some place for nice pastries and saw the Tonton bakery had pretty good reviews. I ordered a kouign amann and had it 3 minutes after I bought it. When I bite into it it was like a flat piece of dough, not crispy crust on the outside, and no any layers on the inside, feel like chewing a sweet half cooked dough, quite disappointing.

We tried the viral “cookie croissant” and it was absolutely amazing! It was without a doubt one of the best croissants we’ve ever tried. Would definitely recommend to visit it if you’re in Sydney!

There is some proper baking going on here and the bread and pastries look amazing. I will definitely come back to try them (they look like 5 star bakes). I only grabbed a take away coffee and it was ok. They make a big effort with cleanliness and presentation although some of the display cards looked tatty on the day. This is of course a minor point and I would definitely try them again.
