What do Uncle Tetsu’s Japanese Cheesecake visitors reviews this place?
I had this cheesecake once but I was thrilled to see it when we were walking to Little Canada. We returned for a snack and to also bring the leftovers back to the Airbnb. We got the original Japanese cheesecake which is pretty big and shareable. Texture is very moist and bursting with flavor. I could easily gobble this up in a day. We also purchased one of the Earl grey cheese tarts. Flavor was very delectable. Smooth, creamy consistency. You can find lots of seating in the attached mall, there’s a food court on the bottom. Yes, there was a very long line but everyone waited. It was well worth the wait. Prices were slightly expensive but we don’t have this in Chicago.
This is the new Uncle tetsu which has relocated across the street to the atrium mall. This is an open concept bakery where you can see all the items being made. There are often long lineups at this location due to popularity, service is fast and efficient.
They are constantly making new cheesecakes and other desserts throughout the day so you know that what you get is fresh. A great spot to get a dessert or a sweet gift for a reasonable price.
There’s basically no seating inside so you will need to enjoy your dessert elsewhere.
Cheesecake is ok. Not too sweet not too heavy. It has more of a normal cake texture. Their tarts were good. The chocolate tarts tasted very good.
If you haven’t tried it give it a shot, but nothing you would go for a second time.
I’ve had their signature cheesecake and madelaines, but I can’t believe I am only trying their cheese tarts now. I tried both their original and creme brulee tarts at party and really liked the original. The tarts were not too cheesy and the pastry was nice and crumbly. Just like any other Asian dessert, they weren’t too rich or sweet.
Highly recommend the original and would get again.
Uncle Tetsu never disappoints me with their products. I have been a loyal customer for years and I always enjoy their treats. This time, I sampled the yuzu angel hat and the crème brûlée cheese tarts, which were both limited edition items. They were amazing! The cheese tarts were so creamy and rich, and the yuzu hat was light and refreshing. The only downside was that they limited the cheese tarts to two per customer, and I had to wait in line for 15 minutes. But it was worth it. They served them either warm or at room temperature, depending on how fresh they were. I took some screenshots of their menu and prices for more information.
