Whenever I visit wellington, I make sure I do an order in advance for some almond croissants which also means I need to purchase extra luggage to bring home.
The almond croissants are definitely unique and tasty, with something like and orange blossom glaze that doesn’t make it too sweet. If you don’t manage to make an order in advance, you can usually find these stocked at Customs.
On this occasion, I decided to try the sourdough focaccia, and boy was I glad I did. It’s so nice, airy and rich which also freezes really well. Comes to about 20cm diameter.
What a treasure and gift to Wellington this business is.
Catherine, Matt, and team are truly the best. In addition to making the best sourdough in the city and stocking some cool kit (eg. bannetons, dough scrapers, etc.), they’re also so nice about allowing me to bring my own containers to purchase their high-quality flours.
Can’t say enough superlatives about this place. So grateful for them.

Best sourdough I have tasted in NZ by far. The excellence of what is made here cannot be overstated. Do visit, the beautiful interior and the quality of the coffee will make you stay a little.
Most possibly the best sourdough I’ve ever tasted. Went there this morning for a fresh loaf and a PNG pour over coffee. The coffee, service and atmosphere were great, and my goodness, that sourdough is to die for. Great thing I’m no longer on Keto! 🥴 If you haven’t been, you’re missing out on real sourdough.
