Overrated but still very good. The line to get in for dine in or takeaway can be an hour or more during peak time. Lots of musicians playing for you while in the line. They only took cash in the take away line that I happened to have this trip. The beignets are exceptionally good when they are crispy and good when you get one that is doughy. The hot chocolate is standard fare and they offer milk and sodas. It’s still worth the visit if your in New Orleans.

Beignets are my favorite breakfast pastry, but these were the best ones I tried while in NOLA. It gets very busy down by Jackson Square, so time your visit appropriately. I went early Sunday morning (8am). No wait. The servers weren’t quick to come over to the table but I wasn’t rushed. Bring cash because they don’t take credit cards, at least not outside. The musicians on the sidewalk were fun to walk and enjoy the jazz.
Popular place for the beignet in New Orleans. Love the atmosphere. Coffee and the beignet were awesome. Very quick service and reasonable price. They don’t take a credit cards, so make sure bring a cash if you plan to go there. It is a long line to go get a table, but it won’t take longer to wait.
I know this place is legendary but I had never been. My wife and I went on our last day visiting NOLA and we’ll make sure to stop in every time we’re in town from now on. Such a neat spot with live music, classic coffee and beignets. It was a packed house as the weather was perfect that morning. It’s a must try!
This was our first time visiting and the establishment was super packed and quite overwhelming. We were unsure where to go for service and all the staff seemed extremely preoccupied. We were told by a staff member to find a seat and someone will be with us shortly. It took us about 5 minutes to find a empty table for two. All the tables were either occupied or extremely messy. We soon realized that any table was better than standing around waiting for a clean table. After a short while, a server came to our table and was kind and provided fast service. The beignets were very fresh and tasty! They only took cash for payment. No debit/credit transactions.
