Campos Coffee Newtown

Didn’t quite meet expectations at this so renowned coffee’s flagship store. Despite their advertised flavor profile of “Caramelly & Rich Blend” with hints of “Sweet Butterscotch” and “Red Fruit & Apricot,” the coffee I received had a prominent salty taste that overshadowed these flavors. While it wasn’t overly bitter or acidic, the unexpected saltiness left me feeling disappointed. While everyone’s taste preferences differ, this deviation from what was advertised reinforced that Campos Coffee might not be my go-to choice.

Very friendly staffs, stunning coffee. I visited here after 6years and it was still absolutely amazing even better. I really love to visit again.

I think it will be very delicious if the coffee is aged a little longer. It’s a very pleasant cafe because it’s very friendly. It’s a wonderful cafe that transformed mediocrity into speciality.

i have always loved the coffee here but lately the quality of the pastries has deteriorated. My croissant was dry inside and soft outside, and if you get there at the wrong time of the day (which is unpredictable so I can’t warn you), there will be little to choose from. I bought a keep-cup for nostalgia’s sake and received a free coffee in it, which was a lovely gesture!

So yesterday I rode over 100kms to go to the original Campo Coffee store after being introduced to the brand a while back from a friend of my wife and I. We have had Campos Coffee at many cafes as a result.

So on to yesterday. From viewing photos online the place looked small with a ton of atmosphere. Well it’s great.

The space inside is very well utilised including a bench on the wall.

The service is exemplary. Order a coffee etc and within a few moments it’s delivered to you by a staff member who you haven’t seen and somehow knows where you are sitting. They are tight on top of their game.

The staff are always smiling which is a great sign of a great business. This happiness flows into the coffee and the excellent pastries.

The coffee itself is 5/5. Just wonderful.

Another good sign is the constant lineup for coffee. The speed of their service is great and needs to be as the line of customers is constant.

I would recommend this cafe to anyone that wants excellent coffee, great service, wonderful pastries and an atmosphere that makes you feel welcome from the moment you step
