What do Centennial Coffee House visitors reviews this place?
Good place to get a coffee to go. There can be a bit of a wait for tables on the weekend. Egg and avocado on toast was great, but potato rosti was a bit bland and wet. Could have been the day we were there, and will likely try again in the future to give another go. Staff were super friendly and made a great cappuccino!
The person serving us made nasty and provocative comments about a well known New Zealand politician to our group. Really out of line behaviour from service staff. Where do people feel they can share their personally held political views and talk so abusively (name calling, swearing ) about others without putting people off returning? I for one won’t be coming back! Management need to talk to their staff about this. It’s inappropriate
I always appreciate somewhere that offers some different options than your stock standard brunch choices, so I had to leap at the chance to try the Centennial Coffee House’s Lebanese eggs. The halloumi, tomato and sumac all worked exceptionally well together. If this is an indication of the other items on the menu I’ll definitely be back for more.
I don’t usually like to leave bad reviews, but my coffee this morning really left me with a bad taste in my mouth. I went in around 10am to get a flat white. The barrista made my coffee, and I noticed as she was pouring my milk that she was pouring A LOT of foam. When I mentioned that was too much foam for a flat white, she scoffed at me, said did I expect her to make it again (to which I said no), then proceeded to tell me that all flat whites have foam. She didn’t seem to realise the difference between a cappuccino and a flat white (as she had basically made me a cappuccino in place of my flat white order, which was $8 btw), and tried to argue with me that flat whites are supposed to have foam (when it’s in the name – they should be a “flat” white, i.e. no foam). I dunno, the cafe is usually excellent, but I may not be going back for some time.
Great food, good atmosphere, very friendly staff
Just a bit too long to wait for the food to arrive after ordering
