What do Communal Coffee visitors reviews this place?
FOOD: Coffee had great taste but the matcha donut wasn’t my jam.
OVERALL: You can either catch up with friends or get some work done here. Not a bad place to stop for coffee.
One of the things I love about Communal Coffee is its aesthetic appeal. Not only is it beautiful, but it also offers ample seating areas where you can relax and hang out. Additionally, there is a charming tiny boutique filled with delightful items like books, clothing, and candles. It’s a perfect way to pass the time while waiting for your order or simply exploring the shop.
Finding parking can be challenging, and certain days of the week tend to be more crowded. However, Communal coffee remains my top choice for indulging in matcha lattes and is an excellent place to unwind or get work done.
The plant-based frittata sandwich is delicious – we came back again just to have it! The soyrizo burrito was good as well but a clear second place to the frittata.
I really liked my soy latte, though the clear winner was my husband’s mocha – made with Valrhona chocolate. Probably one of the best mochas I’ve ever had. On the non-coffee drink front, the ube matcha was outstanding.
This location has street parking all around and two 30 minute parking spots.
The only bad thing is charging +$1 for oat or almond milk (those are the only alternative milk options). It’s a pet peeve of mine that coffee shops do this, especially a ridiculous amount like $1!
Overall an absolutely wonderful cafe that I will return to when I’m back in SD!
