JAVA ROASTERS

Thank you lovely folks at Java Roasters! I ordered the Madre Maria for delivery to my accommodation, as my host isn’t a coffee drinker (shock horror). After a long haul flight from the UK, it was an absolute delight to wake up to one of the best coffees I’ve ever had in my life! I travel with an Aeropress because I’m such a nightmare when it comes to making my own brew and this was by far the best experience of a local roast. Magic!

JAVA has decent coffee beans here for filter coffee. I really liked their package design. The owners are awesome. Their prices are also good, and their flavour descriptions looked delicate. Nevertheless, if compared to some of the top coffee roasters in Toronto and in the world, there are rooms for improvements on the coffee quality and taste. Look forward to restock my coffee shelf from JAVA in the future.

Discovered their beans because it’s served at a local café. After testing a few smaller bags, decided to order in bulk.

A couple notes:
1) the coffee is delicious, yet to try one I didn’t enjoy
2) the packaging/marketing is hilarious and fantastic
3) they print your phone number on the shipping label. This might seem weird, but having ordered 10lbs of beans and seeing the notification it was delivered but finding it nowhere, I went into a panic. UPS was of no help in locating it, provided no signature or proof of delivery. But some sweet angel a block away called me 24 hours later to say my package was sitting in her lobby. Caffeine crisis averted.

Bonus points for the little notes they leave inside their boxes. 10/10 would recommend 👌

I’ve known Java Roasters for a while. As a barista, it is one of the coffees I often see in the community.

I wanted to try their coffee, so I went to their location in Leslieville. I met with a lovely human, Kay, who walked me through a coffee tasting experience. She demonstrated great expertise by explaining how the coffee is sourced ethically and resourcefully, what is done to it, why it taste the way it does, among other amazing properties of coffee in general.

My experience with Java Roasters has been enriching. Coffee has the power to bring people together and I really got a sense of that through Java Roasters. I love their openness and versatility when it comes to preferences people might have.

They have good coffee here.

It taste delicious, smells delicious, and feels great on my body. I can’t wait to wake up tomorrow morning and have a cup of their coffee!

The atmosphere was casual, their loft is clean and cozy, and Kay was polite, friendly, and kind. Their coffee warmed my heart.

Staff at Java Roasters can better guide you to find the perfect coffee cup! I would recommend Java Roasters.

I absolutely love the beans from Java Roasters! I’ve enjoyed every cup of the beans so far. I’m a huge fan of light roasts and natural process coffee and the ones here are easily among the best I’ve had (:

Thanks so much Java Roasters for being accomodating and available, you’ve helped make quarantining at home not so bad in the mornings! (:

edit: 2yrs later and I’ve seldom ran into beans that compare and still come here for beans whenever I’m in Toronto.
