Merit Coffee

Stopped by while staying in Austin for the weekend. Easy to get to know S. Lamar, parking was a little hilly. Cute little shop with indoor and outdoor seating. Got an iced latte with caramel syrup which was the perfect amount of sweet. Also ordered an everything bagel with chive cream cheese which was just okay. The bagel didn’t have enough everything seasoning on it and lacked flavor. It was mostly sesame seeds and mostly on one side of the bagel. The cream cheese was spreadable but could have used a bit more pinch. Now I am from NJ so I have pretty high expectations for bagels so take that for what it is.

I have such a hard time getting a good cup of coffee these days. The flavor of their coffee is a bit more bitter but delicious. My main complaint is why is it so hard to get shops to warm their milk before pouring over hot coffee. I want a hot coffee. If I wanted a cold one, I would have ordered a cold one. I didn’t want yo complain because the place was packed, but if you are serving a hot coffee, add hot milk. It’s common sense. And I got a cortado which has 2 ounces of milk, I can’t imagine of I ould have gotten something that has more coffee. Flavorwise its good, but I hate cold cup of hot coffee.

I absolutely love Merit Coffee – it’s among my favorite coffee shops and brands. Their house coffee, with its delightful brown sugar and milk chocolate notes, is a great choice for any coffee enthusiast.

Visited Austin last week and liked the vibe at Merit. The staff are friendly and space is really nice! I wasn’t a huge fan of their coffee. I had a disappointing cappuccino. It wasn’t bad or undrinkable, but also not something I would recommend to a friend. Suggest checking Merit out if you’re in the area, but try the Americano instead!

Cute and simple white wall interior. Got a golden latte but it tasted much more like a frothy milk drink.
