What do Midnight Espresso visitors reviews this place?
I enjoyed my mushrooms for breakfast I added a chick pea patty which was left in the fryer too long which made it dry.
My husband had the big breakfast he said it was good and demolished his food.
Decent servings, not in hurry to go back
The coffee shop that launched a hundred copies in New Zealand, Midnight Espresso was the beginning of the “coffee revolution” by the Kiwis.
It opened in 1988 and while the neighborhood has changed (and calmed down a bit) and the patrons have changed (and are a bit more mainstream), it’s a lively little spot with a fun vibe. Food is served around the clock starting with pastries and pancakes in the morning and moving to burgers and nachos later in the day.
What’s awesome about Midnight Espresso is that they are open late. Way late. 7:30 am weekdays and 8:00 on weekends, closing at 1:00 am. There’s music, there’s a fun vibe, there’s some history.
Five stars. This was the best flat white I had all week across five cities of New Zealand.
Absolutely loved this wee place. On our visit to Wellington we ate here for every breakfast. I LOVE that they have vegan options aswell, suited myself and my partner very well. The atmosphere inside is gorgeous aswell. 10/10.
Such a cool vibe in this place. There is tons of quirky art to look at. I just got a hot chocolate which was really good, but want to go try the food as well since there looked like a whole lot of options including vegan and gluten free things (everything looked super yummy) The glow in the dark bathroom hall was amazing
What is not to love? Our breakfast experience was superb. Ordered one big brekkie and shared it with the two of us. The servings were big and the flavor was great. The coffee was also to our taste. The ambiance took me back to my days at the university as an undergrad and those hole in the wall places with staff that eventually becomes your friend. Felt very at home with this place. It was so good we had to come and have breakfast again the next day. That says a lot because when I travel I tend to eat and savor different places.
