About this restaurants :
Been here twice now. Baristas are always so nice and friendly. Mochas are good, got the raspberry ricotta toast today and that was delicious!
Perfect hidden gem, rustic industrial hangout: coffee in the morning, cocktail bar at night. Loved their grilled cheese sandwich
Staff here is very nice, and this place is great for breakfast if you’re in the area (it’s open earlier than most others and has bagels). However, the music can sometimes be very loud which makes it hard to do work (I’ve taken to listening to white noise), the wifi can be unpredictable (make sure to check that you can connect before you sit down), and they recently reduced the size of the table in the back for some reason! I’m more inclined to visit Poetica lately – the vibe is much more relaxing and accommodating.
I just realized today that I don’t walk in my own community. I stopped by this place cause it’s the last resort before I go in the subway. I needed a nice latte to stay awake with. Not only did I get a nice lattee but a bag of bagels for the munchies. Nice place. It seems like a bar also. Different. Can’t beat it for the hot cup before the subway. #kingofcoffeenyc
it’s a shame that the music here has become so inconsistent
been coming here for 7 years but have stopped due to the vibe being so unpredictable.
the past 3 times i have tried to give it another shot i walk in with chill indie music playing and before i can finish my drink someone cranks the volume and changes it to reggaetone, latin pop, or just thumping dance music. All before 7pm. Just forget it if it’s later.
I have an entire friend group that refuses to come here with me because of the music.
Also their tip menu tricks you into tipping 30% as the default, which i find kind of annoying as well.
But if you like loud dance music in your coffee shop and like to tip 30% on drip coffee and your tax, you will dig this place because everything else is good.
