I ordered the Beefy Fries and honestly they are so good they should rename them “Windy City Nachos”

Tasty sandwich and friendly staff! We were excited to try our first Chicago Italian beef and one of my friends said this is the place with the best. The beef was tender and moist, fries were crispy. I gave a 4 because I think it’s a little overhyped.
If you’ve never had an Italian beef sandwich, I highly recommend getting one from here. Just ignore any place that isn’t Al’s. After trying one the other day (from the restaurant that will not be mentioned in this review), this one is 10 times better. The other restaurant sandwich was a dry flavorless mistake – here it was a hot, juicy, delicious meal. See the photo of my Italian beef spicy wet sandwich. This small shop was really clean, everyone was friendly and the owner/Mgr stopped by and chatted for a bit.
Great food!!! Beef was very tender with tons of flavor. Also had cheddar cheese fries. The fried had great seasoning and plenty of cheese. Staff was friendly. My only gripe would be the bathrooms could use attention. Nice place for a sandwhich before a cubs game
Always a fan of Italian Beef and there is no more obvious place to go than AL’s. I loved the location of this spot, so close to Wrigley Field and easy access to the L Train. The service was very friendly, which I was surprised by. The sandwich was good, but needed to be even sloppier. I would go again.
