Belles Burgers

Without doubt the worst meal I’ve had in many years. Firstly how long can it take to cook two small burgers and fries? A long time apparently. My wife lifted her tiny burger (that looked nothing like the photo in the app we ordered on) and it basically imploded, cheese and sauce spilling out everywhere. My fish burger started out ok, but didn’t appear fully cooked in the middle and included a big piece of fish skin that wasn’t visible and that made me gag. The fries were supposedly cheese and bacon jam – unfortunately the cheese and jam didn’t make the trip 😕 And please tell me why the music has to be so bloody loud that you have to shout to hear the person seated 2 feet away from you? How this place rates 4.6 is a complete mystery 😤

What a great meal. Loved the jalapeno fries and the burger. Lovely restored sandstone building. Yum yum.

While our waiter was pleasant, an hour long wait for fries and a burger was not.

Appearing overworked and understaffed, we watched numerous online orders go out the door while we waited. Of course we were offered more drinks at our cost., to help pass the time.

Being able to view the kitchen at work showed us only 2 cooking staff doing their best, but overwhelmed by the volumes they needed to produce. Prices are fairly low, and the food was tasty enough, but burgers small & fries over seasoned, and presented 15 minutes apart. Filled up on salty fries, then the burgers appeared.

An extra chef & waiter would easily fix these issues. We are not keen to return.

Had heard a few good things about Belles Burgers so finally got the chance to go and check it out for myself.

On entering was greeted with a friendly member of staff, who after signing myself in let me choose where to sit. I chose the wi dow seat looking over Kangaroo Bay as it was a great afternoon for looking at the boats on the water.

They have a nice selection of burgers on offer (hopefully the photo of the menu shows you). A few sides on offer and a decent amount of drink options.

I went for the classic burger with a side order of seasoned fries (I know…..really adventurous eh!) And to wash it down went for something I haven’t had in years, a milkshake. My order roughly came around to $25.

They had a few patrons in there but I didn’t have to wait long for my order. The fries were the shoestring variety and were tasty and crunchy. The burger had plenty of flavour as did the milkshake. I did feel that both the burger and shake were somewhat slightly smaller in portion than I would have liked…..but this could also be because I was quite hungry. Although I don’t really feel this takes away from the value as the food was delicious and all within a relaxed atmosphere.
