Needed a quick meal. Got the chicken burrito bowl. I ate it but probably wouldn’t go back. Ingredients themselves were not bad. Textures, temperatures, flavors were just off to me, esp having been to lots of similar places. I mean it is quick food, but just don’t expect to be blown away
Everything is great , the location , the staff , the food . BUT Boojum must have a policy that the meat portion size comes out of staff wages . It’s the only explanation for the utterly PATHETIC meat portions . All I want is rice and meat but I would get more meat on the euro saver menu . It’s insane how small the portion sizes have gone 🙁 such a shame . I wouldn’t mind if the prices rose a little , but the meat sizing is criminal . I got 4 pieces of Chorizo for €11
Also : not sure why but the Mexican rice pot ended up being 50% lime 50% Mexican – kind of gross , no idea why they mixed both in together . ( must have ran out of something )
Really disappointing and overpriced, paid €10 for this. Nothing like authentic Mexican food. Also found a hair in the salsa. The type of meal where you just wanna eat and leave
Abbey Street’s, Dublin 1, Boojum is the go-to for delicious and spicy Mexican food. They offer burritos and bowls with chicken, pork, or beef, along with your choice of toppings. Expect crowds and maybe a queue. There’s seating downstairs. Students get a discount too! I tried a shredded pork burrito with Mexican rice, salsa sauce, lettuce, cheese, Jalapeno’s and more for just €9. It’s filling and totally worth it!
Walked in at 9.10pm on a Saturday night, I’m aware they close at 10.00pm. Still plenty time, or so I thought.
Ordered my Burrito and was about to pay when I was told I could only sit down to eat “if you found a free seat”… there were about half the tables occupied, the other half I was not allowed sit at, apparently.
I walked out. I went to Boojum to sit inside to eat. Like how long did they think it would take me to war my Burrito? I would have been gone in 20 mins. But No.
The staff member at the till was quite nice, but her colleague who was on the salsa station was very rude and seemed to be the decision maker on who gets to sit down.
Boojum has really gone downhill.
