Lord of the Fries-The Terrace, Christchurch

Vegan fast food at it’s finest. Always friendly staff and it’s excellent value. They’ve got a loyalty program for the hardcore vegans and you will want to join up as you won’t be able to stay away once you eat here!

I’m writing this because I got an email from the main branch saying we’re supposed to review bomb the reviews because of “the haters”. Normally I’d ignore this sort of request but really I’ve been quite disappointed with the food the last few times so I’m just giving an honest review.

To be completely honest the quality of food has really gone downhill compared to even when it first opened. There was a period of time where it took some time to get up to speed in a new business so I understand. But over the last year or so the quantities have decreased significantly while the prices have gone up. I don’t know if that’s a franchise decision or what. Items that used to be amazing and now pretty basic and unappetizing (RIP the Tijuana dog!! So small and sad now 🙁 )The meal quality is pretty inconsistent — the owners are lovely but it’s pretty hit or miss with what sort of quality you’ll get otherwise, to the point we always hope to have them make our food. Often food is under heated (cheese just a cold slab and not melty and nice)

Not intending to start a fight on the reviews but we genuinely can’t afford to fork out the prices for the quality and quantity of food we get now sorry! And I think it’s a bit rude to ask us to give 5 stars because “people hate vegan food” which isn’t the case here! I understand that you’re a local business so I genuinely hope you read this as constructive criticism. I miss how it used to be!!

We absolutely love coming here and always make sure to order extra to take home for later. A little bit pricey especially when I bring the kids (and I may or may not go a little overboard) but it is well worth it for the taste and quality. The Oreo shake and spicy chicken burger are my go to. Great range to choose from and the food is always prepared fresh, hot and with a smile.

I stumbled across Lord of the Fries in Wellington and fell in love. When I came back home and found out we have one as well, I was over the moon. I get the nuggets munch box and they’re delicious. Restaurant is small but nice. Very quiet and a hidden treasure. Friendly staff and a great vegetarian option. I came with my grandad and he still doesn’t believe me when I told him his cheeseburger was plant based, because of how nice it was. Can’t wait to come again :)))

Vishal was super friendly and helpful!! He seemed to be the only one working, but the orders still came out lightning fast. We got a cheese steak and the biggie and both were absolutely delicious. Will definitely stop again!
