Got myself a Single Bomber Burger and a small Poppers.

Bomber burger was just okay. I think the thigh fillet had been sitting out for a little while before being put on the burger. Most of the other elements were at a satisfactory level. The sauce though, DAMN. So so good.

The Poppers on the other hand were made to order and you could taste the difference. Delicious, juicy pieces of chicken topped with that delicious sauce and pickles. Pickles didn’t move the needle for me. If they were store bought, I’d change stores or better yet make in house.

The location we went to was a bid randomly placed in the middle of a square with no seating to eat the food (only public bench seating around)

Had many times as we were staying in the hotel nearby. Delicious each time. The spices in the coating of the chicken was very unique and separates itself from other fired chicken places. The special sauce is so good, I prefer getting it on the side of the poppers so you can dip it after every bite. The bomber burger is pretty much perfect with fluffy brioche buns.

My only gripe is perhaps the gravy. It’s not meat gravy and is a little strange when comparing it to a real gravy. As a sauce though it’s quite delicious and sticks to the crinkle cut fries really well.

Went there for a quick feed after being in town doing a couple things. Originally ordered a single bomber but later upgraded to have halloumi added. Only once I get the burger they put 3 pathetic little bits of chicken, no thigh as its meant to be with fried halloumi.
Wasn’t even worth putting the chicken in as you could not taste it- meant to be the bulk of it incase the employees need reminding.
Very disappointing that I paid extra and only got half.
Only good thing which has always been consistent, the gravy and fries are amazing!
Will not recommend to any of my friends in the Future which I previously have done all the time.
This place use to be a awesome spot for a quick feed, guess the owners don’t care about quality anymore and just hire whoever they can with no customer experience nor cooking and would like to be able to rip people off.
Luckily I was sober and noticed, this probably happens all too often with it being an establishment open when the clubs are closing, so wouldn’t be surprising if they mug more people off. Be careful and ensure it you go, you get the full order.

The burgers at Lucky are delicious.
Maybe the best in Wellington.
