McDonald’s Petone

Came for drive-through after alighting the ferry from Picton. Service crew were pleasant and smiling, and food came quickly. However no serviettes were provided. We’re not from NZ so not sure if this is the norm.

Went there with my family yesterday around 2-2:30pm and we noted that the lady that was cleaning the tables was doing an amazing job. Most times you walk in and the place is a bomb site, but yesterday it was amazingly clean. She was also polite and helpful. Didn’t catch her name but would like to say Thank you for all your hard work.

The restaurant is surprisingly good. It is much cleaner and more modern than other Maccas in Wellington. The worst ones are Bunny Street, Manners Street and Johnsonville. The food is typically bad, but the service for dine-in is above average. There are plenty of tables and seating. There’s even a children’s playground.

For a McDonald’s this place does pretty well! It’s always clean and the service is excellent. There is one worker I believe her name Megan Cardie I had to ask this young lady her name because so was so lovely! Only complaint the soap smells my plastic road kill but I’m going to guess they focus on the cost and not the smell lol 🤣 a very lovely Macdaddys!

I didn’t think it possible as we usually expect that on the occasion, especially in a popular chain restaurant, they forget an item/order BUT how is it possible that every single time I’ve gone to McDonalds Petone during peak hours they have forgotten a part of my order … every single time!!

Tonight was the worst experience as my family were craving McDonald’s and living in the area we went to Petone. We arrived at a time just before it got really busy, lucky us, wrong! Wait time was a little slow but expected and the staff were lovely so with a little blind faith, we didn’t check our order. Get home to find they forgot our 3 large fries, almost not worth going all the way back just for fries but enough was enough.

Went over with the full order and receipt to prove I wasn’t faking it but I get there and it’s really busy and the staff is immediately less friendly. I explain calmly they forgot the fries and the staff responds “That’s it?”

Basic lesson that I’m annoyed for not doing this ONE TIME … always check your order before you leave!
