What do Per Kilo Latino Restaurant visitors reviews this place?
A tiny tucked away Latino restaurant offering traditional South American cuisine. The place may be hard to locate but is on the first floor in a row of restaurants and shops and also with a dodgy massage parlour next to it. Inside is barely any space with a few tables and an open kitchen. The place serves a host of traditional food from the continent. I could see most of the customers were South Americans, probably craving a taste of home. I went for the Arepas Rellenas, which was to flat corn breads stuffed with chicken, quail eggs, and avocado. They offer a choice of meat as well. The rest of the menu had options that were heavy on beef and pork, so I skipped. The dish was freshly made with tender chicken and fresh avocado. The corn breads were soft and came apart easily, too. At AUD 21, it was a fairly filling meal. They even sell some South American groceries from which I chose a chocolate bar, but that tasted awful. Try this spot if you want a taste of South American flavour.
Pretty small but very Latino/Latina space and the atmosphere was really good, very uplifting. I forgot all the names of the dish (because my friends ordered and paid) 😆but look at the photos and you can tell they are very cheesy and yummy 🤤
Was a little tricky to find, but once up those tiny stairs a wonderful experience awaited. The staff were so helpful, patiently explaining the different dishes and answering our many questions. The atmosphere was buzzing, place was packed with locals. The food was soooo good and the snack plates were large so excellent for sharing. Prices were reasonable. Would definitely recommend this place👍
A hidden restaurant in the middle of the city with a cool vibe. Ignore the “massage” ladies and the huge massage sign and walk up the stairs to the first floor.
As a non-latino who loves to try new food, most of the items on the menu were new to me, so it was great to try something new.
The staff were very welcoming and explained some of the options. I had the Patacon Per Kilo which was made from chicken and beef covering a crispy fried plantain.
They have some interesting snacks to try as well as imported beers. Worth a visit and I’ll come back to try some of their other dishes.
I’ve been missing authentic Latino food and this just hits the spot. Couldn’t recommend highly enough. Staff so friendly and accommodating, especially with allergies (gluten). Arepas are outstanding. Definitely go!
