What do ARQ Sydney visitors reviews this place?
ARQ is thankfully much more than a gay night club. People of many sexual orientations go there. The sound system is great, the drinks well priced, the security protective in the face of appalling male aggression and the club is open all night.
Went here on Mardi gras closing party, paid a lot of money to get into the venue but disappointed that the drinks are quite expensive and also there’s a $6 charge for coat check. The venue inside is really cold and didn’t warm up until most of the crowd are inside. I like the sound system and lighting effects, making the club very elegant and seems very expansive. There’s a small aquarium inside if you pay enough attention. There’s also another level up where people can sit and chill or look down at the crowd and party from above.
Not into the bar tenders scamming customers. Serving drinks with no alcohol.
Ordered 3 vodka red bull’s with double shots for $80.
The guy filled 3/4 of each glass with something from a pourer in the ceiling and the rest with red bull.
Unfortunately for him, I wasn’t drunk.
Couldn’t taste anything but watered down red bull.
When I went to complain, there were 3 other people making the exact same complaint that they couldn’t taste any alcohol in their drink.
The guy hesitated before pouring 1 shot of alcohol in a glass and argued when I asked him to put some into the other 2 glasses before doing the same.
Magically the taste of vodka appeared.
Ridiculous.

Had an amazing time, bit of a que but it’s to be expected when you are attending the biggest gay friendly spot in Sydney.
Me and gf’s like to go there to have a good time and not get hassled by sleeze bags. Bar staff and security are really friendly and professional. Highly recommend this place.
Terrible service. Security waited until I had paid for myself and my partner to tell us our mate wouldn’t be allowed in with their shoes. Was lied to by staff that they would get busy and all levels would open. I took my mates there given brilliant previous experiences. Nothing was as it used to be. Was conned out of money, I don’t recommend. Check out kinselas or Stonewall.
