Bar 101 Auckland

Lining up was fine, entrance fee isn’t expensive, it’s a very suitable place for uni students because most of the people looked 18 to early 20’s. Cheap drinks and loud music, kinda felt like a school disco at the same time and it felt veeeeeeery hot and humid in there too.

Best spot in town if you are looking for a cheap night out with your friends. Bar staff are really friendly and Security always check up on you to make sure you are ok which makes you feel safe. You get more bangs for your bucks at bar101. It does get hot inside but besides that it’s an awesome place if you aren’t looking to spend too much on drinks. DJ has awesome music playing so bring your dancing shoes 💃🏽 Issa vibe all around xo

Sadly very unsafe for people apart of the LGBT. Was there on 22/12/23. My friend went to use the bathroom and walked into the men’s bathroom on accident as there were no clear signs to indicate that it was the men’s bathroom. As soon as they realised, they left the bathrooms and a security lady (Mya) approached my friend and started yelling at them and lifted them off the ground toward the stairs to kick them out, not letting my friend get their belongings and bag before leaving. Yelling at them asking them what genitals they have and saying “I accept your kind of people you just can’t be doing that stuff here”. Then she started pushing them down the stairs while my friend was compliant and took them to the door. At this point the security lady saw I was filming and go really angry, violently tried 3 times to take my phone off of me to delete the video while no other guards stepped in to get her off of me. When she realised she couldn’t get my phone off me she pushed me into the barricade causing it to collapse, at the exit making a big scene in front of everyone queuing up to get in. Management came out instantly to apologise but we weren’t refunded.
Unrelated, another member of bar staff has multiple times roofied and spiked girls drinks. He goes by the name “ET” and works bartending most nights or at the door. He has roofied more than 2 girls I know in an attempt to sleep with them, additionally threatening them, saying he would know if they got with any other guys in the club. Very dangerous person, just make sure you don’t interact with the bartender or only order drinks that are in a see through glass or bottle. X

I love this place! Music is awesome, the main DJ is super cute. Drinks are super cheap so great for students. The security is really good at making people feel safe and lets them have fun while being safe.

Honestly just a horrible bar, cant wear camo pants??? Cant be LGBTQ and kick people out for absolutely no reason. The security dont even do their job well as ive seen drinks get snuck in easy as and minors in there.
