What do Fitzsimons Temple Bar visitors reviews this place?
Cool pub, one of the temple bars so obviously very touristy, expect to pay quite a lot for drinks but it goes with the territory. There was live music going on which was a great attraction although the service didn’t feel the most friendly.
Lively pub right in the middle of Temple Bar with great live music, but if you’re happy to pay around €90 for 4 doubles then this is the place for you. Also be careful of what you’re ordering and what the bar staff decide to charge you. We didn’t order doubles, but were given, and charged for doubles. Absolute robbery. Yes, it’s temple bar, but that’s pushing London prices which we didn’t think was possible!
I was ok. The live music was great. Waited a while to get served and got walked past a couple of times.
I went to the toilet, which is down some tight stairs. A skinny crack head looking local had a go at me for not holding the door for him, but I didn’t notice him and was focusing on where I was going and not falling over. I apologized and told him this, but he continued in Gaelic and didn’t stop the entire time in the gents (with his mate).
There’s fairy lights hanging down the windows, which makes it tough to see in or out, so it’s not great if you are trying to decide if you want to enter, or if you want to watch the world go by.

The security guard took one look at me and said “I had too much to drink” to go in. I had one Guinness beforehand and was obviously completely sober. Lots of places nearby so didn’t really care, but leaving 1 star for the discriminatory behavior.
We visited on the last evening of our trip to Dublin and wished we had found it a couple of nights before. The service was rapid and friendly by bar staff who obviously know their stuff. Spent glasses were cleared just as quick. Two excellent Musicians worked tirelessly and played and sung for a set much longer then we are used to. The atmosphere in this lovely place was brilliant!
