What do FOLD visitors reviews this place?
FOLD is a true haven for techno lovers! The crowd knows their music, elevating the whole vibe. While security is multi-layered (good for safety, slightly annoying for entry), and the layout is simple (one bar, one toilet area), the experience is worth it. Get those tickets early for better pricing! danced for 4 hours and felt ike could keep going. It’s walkable to transport links, though the surrounding area feels a bit lonely at night.
No dress code, dress comfortably for a better experience!
The actual club room was great, almost pitch black with incredible lighting and…sound… was crazy good, you just had to look up to see the sound proofing on the ceiling.
No phone/camera policy is a real highlight too, it felt very intimate and really brought the crowd together.
Drinks were very reasonably priced for London. Smoking area was a covered terrace & was lovely, really good chill out zone with a bar out there too.
Couldn’t really fault the place. Recommended highly.
Although musically it’s not 100% my thing, I respect their music policy and I’ve actually enjoyed all the acts I’ve seen there (DJ Nobu, Luke Slater, Richie Hawtin, Call Super, Surgeon, VTSS, and others).
I’ve always found the staff there very courteous, security are friendly as are the bar staff, there isn’t an oppressive feeling of security you get in some venues. The aesthetics of the club are very concrete, the sound is magnificent, the chill-out space is comfortable and the outdoor area is great. It’s really nice, if you stay long enough, to see the sun peering into the dance floor on the summer months as it rises. Above all, I’ve always found the crowd really welcoming and friendly compared to some other venues.
For me, Fold is a venue of increasing rarity in London, approximately for 500 people, run by people who care about what they’re doing and book acts they really believe in, it’s refreshing and for that reason I’d continue to support them when I can. I’ve been to the venue 10+ times, and I can say honestly that I’ve never seen £15 drinks, pickpockets or aggressive security that some of the other reviews have highlighted, if anything my experience has been the exact opposite.
It’s a great venue run by (seemingly) great people, but remember it’s not a typical “EDM” venue, it’s run on what I’d describe as quite “punk” principles of not conforming to the mainstream of electronic music, for that it should be applauded. Bring a good attitude and an open mind to the party and I think you’ll enjoy it as much as I have over the years, thank you for the memories, Fold, they were all great xxx
