Great music. If you love drum and base you will love hide! It’s a classic dnb hub with broken toilets and an average smoko. Bouncers are great company and bar staff are efficient and fun to chat to. I know a lot of people who play here and their music is nasty as all hell. Tickets to get into gigs are USUALLY okay priced. Sometimes they get a bit ridiculous and I just can’t justify it but if you pick your times it’s a great not too expensive night with forever two for twenty vodka red bulls. They are always booking overseas artists so new stream of artists and music coming through as the months go by and you can guarantee they are doing afters for festivals with headliners playing.
As a promoter, was a pleasure to work with the staff who were friendly and looked after our attendees. Security were relaxed and understood the nuances of a rave crowd. Sound and lighting production are the absolute best in Christchurch.
Someone threw a pint glass at my head and gave me a massive concussion. The staff did not seem concerned at all or do anything about it. They proceeded to tell me they only sell drinks in plastic yet I got hit in the head with glass…. Also no toilet paper and vomit all over the bathrooms.
We purchased tickets to an event and travelled from afar to attend. My wife was subsequently turned away at the door for having open toed shoes (supposedly a new rule they have just started). So spent the night at our bnb.
I went on what I was told was a slow night. Upstairs techno was fantastic, most (not all) of the bouncers were friendly. I’d come back on a busier night for sure, although $50 cover is outrageous.
