Ivy Bar

Can’t comment on food but I absolutely loved this bar.
I’m not from wellington but I was very glad to have found this place. Happened to show up on the last Friday of the month which is their monthly drag show apparently.
And wow it was a great show!
The people were very friendly. I loved the decor!
It’s a smokey little underground bar where I really felt I could be myself.
When I’m back in town I’ll be definitely popping in again!

From what I can remember it has an amazing atmosphere and nice cocktails. It’s a great club for all members of the LGBTQIA+ community and a good place to meet likeminded folks. Beautiful interior. And I’m very sorry for throwing up in the hallway.

Ngawai and the rest of the crew were absolutely lovely. Ivy is a fantastic place to go to hang out.

Awkward stage that’s hard to see from most angles. DJ remixes every song to sound exactly the same, and the sound quality is rubbish.

Ivy is great, the atmosphere, the people, the yummy cocktails 😋
I remember one cocktail called Jim Jams that was tasty af.
Friendly service too.

Its just the best.
Also for someone like me who is sensitive to brightness, I appreciate the dark lights.
Highly recommended.
