What do Monroe SF visitors reviews this place?
Sunday mornings (open at 6am) have been my favorite electronic club experience for as long as I can remember. It’s such an eclectic group of folks, very rarely any toxic egos. The bartenders are super nice, has been the same crew for many years. Beats are always solid. The outdoor area is just heaven for random conversations and people watching. I skip going out Saturday nights to get up early for Monroe Sundays.
We bought out the Monroe for a company party for ~150 people and it was fabulous! The owner was easy to work with and added in a lot of personal touches to the space that we weren’t expecting. The venue size was great for our group size, however if you plan on hosting 200+ people it would be tight and resemble more of the club atmosphere that you’d see on a typical night at the Monroe. We used one of the caterers the venue suggested and the food was fantastic. Also, in terms of renting the space, the pricing was quite reasonable for a full venue buy out + what you get compared to other downtown SF locations that we looked into. Overall, I’d be happy to host another event here in the future!
Great fun here! Was here this weekend and there was great music and it was super fun. My friend had 1 drink and was super sick, we left early to take her home. We think maybe something got put in her drink on the dance floor. Ladies WATCH YOUR DRINKS
We rented the space out for my sister’s 40th. It was beautiful. Payam worked extremely hard to make the event a huge success. The sound system was amazing. Drinks are delicious. Shout out to the bartender, Guadalupe! Everyone that works here was so kind and helpful.I would 100% recommend renting this space out for a private event. We also used James the chef for catering. He was an absolute gem to work with and the food was great! I am so happy we went with this space for my sister’s surprise party. Next time I am in the city I want to go back just for the drinks and to enjoy all the nice decor again.
Two lines — they won’t tell you which one is VIP or GA. Nevertheless, we got in after someone yelled “they’re not letting in Mexicans”. We ordered drinks that were beyond weak and spent $100+ on one round. They didn’t give an itemized receipt so I can’t tell you how much each item was — it felt like a scam. The music on this Saturday was a little too old, a little too young. I love pop as much as the next person, but the DJ song choice sucked. People here were jumping and generally unaware of bodily / spatial awareness. Be prepared to leave with a drink spilled on you, a hundred dollars less richer, and disappointed overall. A lively experience, but lacking heavily in the drink and music part — the actual part of the club you would want.
