Tabu London

Not your typical japanese restaurant. More an upmarket club lounge with stylish deco and delicious food. The circular white marble tables compliment the soft creams, browns and pinks with dimmed and recessed lights and ceiling mirrors.

Food: very good flavours and textures, good portions, attention to detail and presentation. Starter of yellowtail carpaccio, delicious. Also broccoli with goma dressing very good. The sashimi selection and prawn tempura sushi were excellent and the salmon teriyaki from the grill was perfectly cooked and very tasty as well. Mochi was a fitting end to a very good meal.

The staff are great and the service is very good. Special mention to Michelle, who was superb, and my waiter on the night, Anas, very friendly and professional.

Nice concept: it is a different experience. 2 issues though: the house music seems to get louder as the evening progresses, difficult to mantain a conversation. Good for groups but definitely not for a romantic candlelight dinner. Pity, because the deco is very pleasing.

Also, as I was leaving, the attitude from security at the door was very poor, one gentleman in particular. Perhaps it has to do with the fact that it is also a night club, but had I been met with such appaling attitude on my arrival I would have turned round and never come back!

Overall, a nice concept, very good food and service and works as a different experience. But it is let down by the choice and volume of the music and very poor attitude of some members of security at the door.

the staff are rude and dont know how to treat customers right. the ladies at the entrance upstairs have way too much attitude and i would never personally go back because of the way they treat customers. However the bouncers were sweet and welcoming as well as the male security head

Very disappointed to say the least. I travelled two hours to London to be told you can’t come in even though we were added to a guest list a week in advance!!! The girls on the door were judgy and looked everyone up and down. Honestly don’t bother going to this club, there are much better ones out there where you’re treated with respect and not used as a piece of meat.

Worst club ever. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY THERE. We had 2 VIP tables, spent over £3000 this Friday for a 41st bday. The birthday boy after going outside was not allowed reentry. No reason given apart from he had too much to drink. We thought it was a joke at first. Bouncers a third class individuals. They want you to give them cash handouts for reentry. Lots of reviewers say the same thing. Then our VIP host comes to get him 45mins after he was standing outside in -1degree temp without a jacket and says you can come back in to pay. If I’m allowed back in to pay, why did they not allow him back in earlier? Comple idiots. They basically want people to spent £1500 per table and then they chuck people out by not allowing them back in, once the bottles on the table are close to finishing. It’s a fraud of a night club. Ruined every ones night. Many clubs to chose from in London, so don’t choose this one.

They talk to you like you are scum.
Very poor attitude.
The girl that was on the door on 9/03/24 is a very vile individual – I’d fire her.

No customer service.
