What do The 27 Club visitors reviews this place?
Had an awesome time here during our first trip to Ottawa! We came for emo night and had a blast. Best nightclub/bar in the area that we had been to. It was the highlight of our trip. It was so great seeing everyone come out and dress up for the occasion. The entry price was good, the drink prices were good, even the bathrooms were clean. The music selection was top-tier and the place was packed. I loved that the coat check was very organized too. They had very nice security as well very good mannered compared to other clubs in the area. When we come back to Ottawa we are definitely coming here again.
Drinks are reasonably priced for a bar. They’ve got Strongbow at $9 a king can and I personally love dry cider. Live music makes this place bumping. Mandatory cash only coat check kind of sucks, but the venue wants to make some $$$ so it’s understandable. I didn’t try any food at this location.
Why is what I assume the manager, denying people water? Rest of the staff is wonderful and helpful. But the Blonde Bartender (always with a bun) isn’t legally allowed to deny customers water. Please do better next time.
Looking for a good dance bar, I went to this bar first time. Expensive cover charge of $25 to start with plus coat check. Drink prices are reasonable though.
I also don’t like the guy standing outside the bar. He has lots of attitudes and profiles out customers based on his likes and dislikes and lies that the bar is full and sold out whereas the bar is empty. He is a good enough reason to boycott this bar.
Large dance stage which is good but the place was half empty even at its busiest on a Saturday night. No wonder with such expensive cover. The bar was only reasonably busy for less than an hour between 11:45 to 12:45.
My other advice is to put a mirror in the men’s washroom. Surely with such cover charge you can afford it. It was also cold inside the bar. After 1 am, the place became empty, so I left too.
The crowd was nice and friendly, so were the bartenders.
Came here, saw a band we liked and had a great night… until an unreasonable and aggressive bouncer had no idea of what a rock night is and charged at my friend. Head of security tried to reason and saw our side (along with many others who also came outside to testify against his behaviour) but regardless, he sided with his staff in evicting us and obviously ruined our otherwise enjoyable time. No compensation for this scenario. Do better.
