About this restaurants :
Ruined my birthday! My friend and I, both POC women, were invited by a promoter who had reserved a table. Once we reached the front of the line, everyone in our group was allowed in except for us. The hostess singled me out, stating, “She can’t come inside tonight.” When I asked why we were denied and inquired whether entry would be possible by paying for a bar tab or table, the bouncers dismissed me, advising to leave and not to “make it worse” for myself. This was a humiliating way to spend what should have been a special day. It’s unbelievable that such a racist establishment is still in business.
Thursday show was lit 🔥🔥 look out for Daddy Nicholas & Pepper… such amazing acts. The mix was superb for me and the breaks between acts was just in sync .. concrete jungle never disappoints .. try know someone who knows some1 type of club to get in and that’s why it felt extra special 😎
I’ve been to the Box countless times in the last 4 years and I have to say, my satisfaction varies based on the night due to several things. Unfortunately, the bartenders tend to be a bit standoffish/unwelcoming unless they know you (I’ve been on both sides of this spectrum). Our last outing there recently was a bit inconvenient as well because coat-check was at capacity. The environment is enticing and mysterious and the acts always deliver which is definitely why the venue has such a high acclaim. Be prepared to spend money, be prepared to be packed in and be prepared for unexpected circumstances !
These folks are a MESS. I made a reservation a month in advance. In the email details, it says that a reservation guarantees your table but you have to get there by 12am. My friend and I arrived there by 11:20pm. We asked which line to get on, and the bouncer said if we had reservations to wait on this line. We waited until a little after 12am. When we got up to the door and they checked our reservation, they told us that there was a problem with our reservation. When we inquired further, he told us they gave our table away and there were no other available tables. What????? If we had a reservation and arrived well before we had to be there, I’m not sure what the problem was. It looks like they pick and choose who they let in, no matter if you have a reservation. And it looks like they just keep people waiting in line outside to make the place look cooler than it is. Because while they slowly let people in, nobody was leaving the venue. I’ve been to several nightclubs and never had this experience before. Don’t waste your time going there.
Staff was nice but the performances were genuinely lack luster. If you don’t know someone like I did, you aren’t getting in, just being honest.
Crazy enough, I wish they were stricter in their occupancy limit bc the layout makes it impossible for a crowd to safely manage. They should sell exactly 200 tickets a night and that’s it. Any more people it’s literally dangerous for the crowding. That’d take care of the line issue too
