The Foundry Nightclub

The place itself isn’t too bad, the dancefloor is good, there’s lots of seating. The smoking area is a bit cramped though. The djs are very hit and miss! I would recommend it if you don’t mind being surrounded by 18 year olds getting sick all over themselves!

This place is massive, its part of the Din Ri, We went to a stag there and had no bother with the bouncers on the door, nice chaps. Once in there was a massive line for the coat locker but thats to be expected with a night club of this size. The foundry was in 2 sections, DJ and live act. Spent a bit of time in with the DJ but moved on to the Live act. Plenty of little bars all over the place so we didn’t have to wait very long for a drink. Finished up around 2.30. Great night had by all.

Brilliant nightclub, the best in Carlow town. The drink are expensive, but the venue itself more than makes up for it.

It has a nice mix between DJ music it the central part and live music in The Tower.

Numerous bars to appeal to all tastes, from a Value Bar for those of a fixed income to a tasty cocktail bar for those with more exotic tastes and everything in between.

Wholeheartedly recommend the place for those who are staying in Carlow for a weekend.

Went out here last Saturday only to be told that it was not me in MY OWN age card & refused entry, even after producing 3 more more forms of id (bank card, college card & public service card) all of which had my full name on them, two had photo identification, yet I was continually told in a belittling/dismissive manner by what seemed to be the ‘head’ bouncer that it wasn’t me in MY OWN age card & that I should “go away and stop annoying him”, all whilst I spoke in a polite tone & I also tried to reason with the other bouncer to take a second look to see the mistake they made but he said I should talk to this ‘head’ bouncer who was nothing short of a bully & put it down my neck that it wasn’t me in my own age card. easy to see why he has to work as a bouncer, how would he get a respectable job when he can’t even do this job right. Also my Friend had to come back out after paying in aswell as had no one else to socialize with. Fairly poor form for any venue, but at the end of the day it’s a mediocre club AT BEST & then to have to deal with that rubbish, not impressed at all. Would highly recommend going to Scraggs or Tully’s, (where I will be going from now on btw) at least you’re guaranteed a good night there & their bouncers actually have good eyesight , don’t speak to you in a belittling/disrespectful tone & don’t have the ego of a water buffalo during mating season despite the fact they guard a nightclub door for a living. Piss poor club at best & not just saying that because of this incident.
