What do The George visitors reviews this place?
Going downhill.
Been to the George many times over the years but recently noticed a major difference in the numbers they’re allowing in. The entire building was skin to skin to the point where it wasn’t really enjoyable anymore, no personal space, no room to dance and most importantly it has to be a health and safety risk, surely there’s capacity.
As I brushed past a man last night and said sorry for doing so he decided to hit me in my side sending me forward bumping into others. I was taken aback to be honest, this isn’t an experience I’m used to in clubs in Dublin. I turned just to look and see what had happened and he was glaring at me and said something though I couldn’t hear what. As other club goings came to ask if I were ok he had resumed dancing with his friends. After the initial shock had past I realised I should inform bar staff and security.
What I will say is the security were brilliant they really did care and do their job to try and locate the aggressive guest so well done to the George on that. His friends informed security that he had already left.
I do believe the numbers allowed in to The George had a part to play in this incident. I don’t blame the door security who were thorough and efficient in gauging who was in a fit state and old enough to enter but the company itself should have a strict limit (and a decrease to the current numbers) of how many are let in.
Because of the door staff and the security I would still feel comfortable returning to the George however with the inability to dance or move around the bar I’m not sure there’s much appeal.
