Grim spot but unfortunately the only place in town for a drink after midnight. Terrible music. Drink prices vary depending on who you’re served by which makes you think there are certain staff trying to be clever and bulking up their tips for the night. Technically stealing from people.
Also feel the need to mention the size of the shots. Definitely not the standard 35.5 millilitre measure in Ireland. The nightclub downstairs seems to be serving even smaller shots but charging full price. The only time I’ve seen such tiny measures of alcohol was in holiday destinations charging you €2 a shot but paying €6 for what looks like a 20ml shot glass is crazy.
Long story short, you’ll regret going to this place.
Very odd athmosphere. Good music and great staff. But it’s like a strange place. The sound system in the basement with the live band is awful.

Covid. Since It reopened after covid restrictions ended the atmosphere and crowd was all different. Totally changed. No reflection on the staff etc. But as a local the piano bar isn’t the same anymore.

Great spot in Athlone. Actually the main spot for a late night drink. Love the live music. Anytime after 00.30. Bouncers are very unpredictable. Stag stay away because they won’t let you in. Hens very welcome that says it all in my opinion.
