About this restaurants :
The courses were not just about the food; they were a masterpiece of flavors, textures, and creativity. Each dish was meticulously crafted and presented, showcasing a blend of ingredients that delighted the senses in unexpected ways.
What sets Alinea apart is not just the food but the entire experience. The attention to detail, the innovative presentation, and the seamless flow of each course made for a truly memorable dining adventure.
But it wasn’t just the food that impressed; it was the entire atmosphere and service. The staff were knowledgeable, friendly, and attentive, ensuring that every moment was enjoyable and personalized.
Overall, Alinea is more than just a restaurant; it’s a culinary journey that leaves a lasting impression. If you’re looking for an exceptional dining experience that goes beyond just great food, Alinea is a must-visit.
Among a few negatives, it had the classic pretentiousness of high end restaurants and the fake small talk that was really overkill! Yet they took my request seriously to have a specific dining style as I prefer despite being fully booked. 5 star for service!
The first few courses were not up to the mark; they attempted to set a cadence but it kept going nowhere. I thought I was going to be disappointed. The eggplant under the guise of a sardine was not at all tasty…the expectation was to wow the diner. I was wowed until I tasted it…nah…let’s move on…
Then came the honey Mango and there was a sharp improvement overall! The chicken and the lamb were enigmatic…as I called it! Amazing food and beautiful music playing in the background – this was the time during the meal when my senses were stimulated with a warmth of nostalgia. Almost magical! The dining room however was closely stacked, at least for me, as I appreciate some privacy.
The desserts were innovative…The paintwork was mostly just to impress the diner as it didn’t taste as exemplary as I expected!
I’ll still give it a 5 star rating because of how considerate they were with my requests and the occasional wow moments during the meal.
I highly recommend booking and enjoying this experience. Anyone who is rating this anything other than 4 or 5 stars must simply enjoy just hating life in general- so ignore them.
For roughly $800 per person including tip and wine pairings, we were underwhelmed for most of the 3.5 hour evening. My wife and I both left saying the same thing. That we have both had better experiences at many restaurants for less than 1/4 the price. Many of the dishes were just OK. Of the roughly 15 courses we tried, we enjoyed maybe 5-6 of them.
Service was top notch although very rehearsed and robotic like. They bring all the food at once to each table and the waitstaff at each table explains each dish. The problem with this is with each one talking at the same time, it was impossible to hear the explanation for the dish you were about to eat. So we were left guessing what it was we were actually tasting.
