About this restaurants :
The variety and the flavors were very good. We had a large table that ordered a lot of different things. The drinks were also really well made and very quick to arrive. The only reason this doesn’t get five stars is for the price. I’m looking for perfection. But this is a great place to have a large group.
Arrived at 7:45pm for our reservation on a Friday night and it was PACKED. Seated upstairs after 15 minutes of waiting like sardines by the bar. The wait was worth it. The tuna tarts app with white truffle was delicious. For entrees, I got the wagyu skirt steak and it was perfectly charred, super flavorful and juicy. My boyfriend got the chilean sea bass and it melted in our mouths. Portions are a bit small, but presentation is excellent. We got a side bowl of rice which went a long way to feeling full by the end of the meal. Perfect place for a special occasion / date night — will definitely be back.
This sushi restaurant is set intimately in a converted Brownstone that adds to the experience. The food quality is above average for comparable sushi restaurants. However, the price point is commensurate. The crispy rice and crispy spicy shrimp are family favorites. The real surprise is with the desserts. The layered crepe cake was perfect.
All dishes were nicely presented but not tasty as we thought. The Szechuan yellowtail was way too salty. Our favorite was the green tea crepes. Service was good but the place was crowded and noisy especially in the bar area.
Restaurant is spread over a few floors, needing to take an elevator upstairs if your table is there.
The food was actually very good. Good sized portions and fresh. We had a few rolls, the bass and steak. Everything was excellent except the one thing that prevents a 5 star rating for food is that so many of the dishes were drenched in sauce. This made the dish exceptionally salty. The sea bass for example was a wonderful piece of fish but there was way too much sauce and it turned out to be very salty.
The table upstairs were a bit too cozy for us. They really try to squeeze as many patrons in as possible. So expect to listen to other people’s conversations …. And expect to have others listen to yours.
Service was very good, no complaints there.
On the fence whether I’d come back again. Having said that our party enjoyed the food and the atmosphere.
I would also like to add that the service they recommend on the bill is a % of the total bill.including tax, when it should be based on the sale before tax, so the suggested % for the tip is actually inflated. That wasn’t cool.
