About this restaurants :
Our Uber driver said it was his favorite place to take his wife for day night so I took mine. We got to sit at the chefs table right at the pass of the kitchen and the show they put on was amazing. The fried gator was meaty and lightly breaded with a tasty sauce. The arugula salad was awesome and had a surprise of mint leaves to give it an effervescent flavor. The rabbit and dumplings had a turnip base for the gravy which gave it a unique taste that was warm and inviting. Service was good. Food was great. The teamwork displayed by the kitchen was energizing.
A hidden gem in Nola, first time here in this restaurant and won’t be last! Thanks to my beloved friend who recommended this place for me and I would regret it if I didn’t make it here. In my opinion this place is serving the best wood-fired oysters I’ve ever had, best of the best!! I love all the food in Nola but Cochon is my absolute top one and after I had the oysters my heart was melting and I wish I could eat this every day. This place is going to be my go to spot every time I visit Nola and the service was amazing my server came and checked every single time I got a new dish and she gave me a good recommendation as well. 5 stars for me!!
I had a wonderful experience at Cochon, a restaurant that serves authentic Cajun and Southern dishes with locally sourced ingredients. The food was delicious, fresh, and flavorful, and the service was friendly and attentive.
I started with the gator meat, which was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside and the spices were out of this world. For the main course, I ordered the Smoked ribs, which was a generous portion of tender and juicy meat with braised baked potatoes. The ribs were cooked to perfection and the sides complemented it well.
I had no room for dessert but from what I saw and heard, I missed something heavenly.
I highly recommend Cochon to anyone who loves Cajun and Southern cuisine, or who wants to try something new and exciting. The restaurant has a cozy and rustic atmosphere, and the staff are very knowledgeable and helpful. Cochon is one of the best restaurants in New Orleans, and I can’t wait to go back.
The food at this restaurant is very tasty and full of flavors. Gator bites were quite the sumptuous appetizer while the mains were a good blend of rich and savoury and crisp refreshing mix. Definitely worth checking out. They also have a butcher shop next door with some bar food and meats to take home so can hit that up before or after the meal for some extras.
I think 3 stars may be slightly harsh because the food is actually done really well, it’s just not really my type of food. I appreciate it is cooked well, but the dishes were a little too “creative” for my liking and not quite to my taste. I’m not the biggest fan of alligator, grits or cooked oysters. Nonetheless glad I tried it as it was very memorable, the restaurant had a really nice atmosphere and the service was great. The bread was fantastic
