Amazing food!! Beautiful outdoor seating on three sides of the building. Excellent and friendly staff. We shared a fennel sausage and egg on seeded sourdough and the pancakes. Superbly delicious!! So enjoyed our selections and sitting outside!!

Absolutely love this place. Spacious enough, friendly staff, great oceanview, but my highlight I want to point out was the food. Even simple granola was the most delicious one I’ve ever had. I could feel that it was carefully prepared. Caesar salad was great too! Simply a perfect place to start your day.

I was invited here for a reunion. Twenty of us were able to sit outdoors at the back of Dulcie, where we could meander from table to table sharing stories, hugs and laughter. My avocado toast was amazing. I couldn’t get over the size and color of the New Zealand eggs! Everything was so flavorful. Wear sunscreen! The NZ sun can be fierce. I highly recommend taking the ferry to this Devonport spot. Allow a whole day to walk around the quaint downtown and browse in a huge, popular book store, plus souvenir shops, art galleries, the beach, etc. Stroll among historical homes and beautiful old trees.

I have visited this lovely place several times. The breakfast options are delicious and their scons are must try. I also tried the custard doghnut from Daily Bread at Dulcie, and unfortunately, it was underbaked and left me feeling unwell. Apart from this one off hiccup, the overall experience is great. Highly recommend for a delightful start to your day.

It’s true – this is one of Auckland’s most sophisticated day time eateries.

After a recent week in Sydney eating at different cafe’s every day we wondered why Auckland had fallen so much off the pace.

Dulcie showed us there is still innovation in Tamaki Makaurau. I had a very satisfying breakfast sandwich. Helen had what she called “the best eggs bene ever” with a caccio pepe base.

We shared a smoked cheese scone with bacon butter. Men have gone to war for less.

The seating and design is a bit sparse but the service more than made up for it. A delightful new find. Can’t wait to try the soon to be launched evening options.

Fun fact – I came here on the recommendation of a friend from work and as we arrived on Friday morning Helen said “are you taking me back to the place where you proposed to me?”

A quarter of a century ago this was the Watermark restaurant, and yes, this is where I proposed to my love. 25 year later we are still happy (with each other and the romantic venue with sea views).
